A Creative Playground for All
For well over a decade, the Nannup Music Festival has welcomed Gertrude WellEase, providing the perfect playground to test, stretch and share new artistic adventures.
In 2026, Gertrude returned with her beloved mobile wardrobe and FIFO (Frock In, Frock Out), bringing colour, curiosity and a little creative chaos to the festival streets.
This year also saw the re- launch of Celebration Hats, an immersive upcycling workshop transforming old hats and materials destined for landfill into wonderfully inventive creations. The creativity was outstanding. Once the glue guns disappeared, something unexpected happened: the energy softened, collaboration grew and people simply enjoyed making things together.
As one participant put it: “What a fabulous opportunity you created for so many to experience joy. Such fun to be a part of.”
And the smiles said plenty.
True to its mission of championing emerging artists and original work, Nannup continues to provide a rare space to experiment, take risks and grow new work in real time with an open-hearted audience. In 2026, that included Chickens and Angels, created with Denmark’s Here and Now Theatre.
An award-winning regional festival, Nannup holds onto something increasingly precious: the intimacy of community. It is a place where new ideas are born, old collaborators reunite and audiences discover something they didn’t know they were looking for.
